The Winning Edge

In July ’08, the week that the Dolphins reported to camp, a reporter for the Miami Herald wrote a small blurb in the paper’s sports section about the “Historical Present” Project. That article mentioned the fact that we (the ’72 Team) had embarked on a project to create, for the first time ever, a line of Perfect Season apparel called, “Game Day Gear”.  Some local shock jock idiot on a local radio station scorned me and my teammates by claiming, “Mercury Morris sunk to a new low by selling T-Shirts about the ’72 Perfect Season”.  Larry Little called me and said, “You’ve got to respond to that disrespect”.  I told Chicken (our team’s nickname for Larry), “We are the only pro football team in history, past and present, who can make the claim of a Perfect Season.”  I then added,  “Michael Jordon sells T-Shirts… we’re selling more than T-Shirts; we are selling nostalgia from the Perfect Season for our fans from the Dolphin Nation.

Whether die-hard or “bandwagon” fans, we are starting a movement to recognize the achievements of the ’72 Team.  This is the first time in history that the 1972 Miami Dolphins are now being recognized as the “Best Ever,” which was noted by the NFL on February 3, 2007.  We want our fans to know that when they see our Perfect Season logo on any merchandise, it means that it came from the ’72 Team, and I mean like directly from us!

Our fans will know that when they wear our Game Day Shirt, which has the numbers 19 and 72 on each respective sleeve, no matter what is happening this season, it will not affect the “Braggin’ Rights” of the fans of the 1972 Miami Dolphins and the Dolphins Winning Tradition.  These products are our gift to the fan, and they are a symbol of the hope for success in the future, for another winning season. 

We have the coolest Perfect Season caps and classy polo’s that commemorate the accomplishments of the ’72 Team.  We plan to expand our product line to include women’s wear, children’s sizes, and jackets, hoodies, and sweatshirts for the Dolphins fans in the cold weather climates (they exist in all corners of the world!)

We have one simple goal:  To “suit up” every Dolphin fan in the world with our Perfect Season Game Day Gear.  No one has these products except us.  Then again, no one else has ever had a Perfect Season except us!

I’ve heard that the Patriots are claiming a “Perfect Season”.  I’m thinkin’ that they just don’t get it.  They will when they see our fans sporting our Perfect Season Game Day Gear.  In their face… comin’ and goin’!
